SEO - Search Engine Optimization of your page
What is SEO and why is it important?
SEO is an abbreviation that stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is just like it sounds, optimizing websites so that search engines (such as Google) like them, which rewards your website with a better ranking.
When someone searches for something we offer, we want to appear high up on the search results. Therefore, we need to write in a way that Google likes. The goal is to get a good position with the content in the search results in combination with the content being right for the applicant so that the applicant clicks on Skillbreak's page and your offer, instead of a competitors' page.
Therefore there are a few thing to keep in mind when you write about your concept. The first thing you should do is start thinking about what your keyword phrase might be. The text is then judged on how readable it is and how well it matches the keyword phrase you have chosen.
Key phrase is the phrase that you think those who would be interested in your offer use when searching on Google. For example, if you have a workshop in ceramics, your keyword phrase could be “ceramics workshop beginners Stockholm”. Or if you have a course on how to tie wreaths, the keyword phrase could be "Wreath binding Stockholm" or "Learn to tie a wreath". If you have a lecture about stress, then maybe your keyword phase would be "Reduce stress lecture" or maybe "Learn to reduce stress".
Once you have chosen your keyword phrase, it is time to write your text. It i important to include your keyword phrase several times to show that your text is actually about what the searcher is looking for.
Make sure your key phrase is included in:
- The introduction
- At least twice in the text
- The title (only if it fits)
- The summary
Summary (Meta description)
Write a short inviting summary that lets people understand what they can do in your class and will get them excited to join. The summary will be displayed in Google's search results so it should be written in a "selling" way that makes you want to click on the link to your concept when you read it. Include your keyword phrase in your summary.
